Regarding the production, we emphasize a trend that we have already reported in previous years, namely the strategic choices pursued by many companies to relocate production in other countries outside the FEB territory. Another trend is that of the mergers (think of Kährs and Karelia-Upofloor), which - as pointed out by Lars Gunnar Andersen - "... are desir- able as well as powerful engines of growth: the union makes the companies even more stronger."

The consumption of wood flooring in FEB area amounts to 87,509,000 square meters, with Austria, Germany and Bel- gium that have slightly increased their shares, and the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands and Hungary that have lost dramatically.
