With Friuli at heart
Joe Bastianich’s Italian restaurant in a renovated old Friuli farmstead

Joe Bastianich – entrepreneur, chef and TV personality, first American and then Italian – is known by most as the judge on the popular MasterChef TV programme.
With his Friuli background, the famous international chef has an estate in Italy, not far from Cividale del Friuli. Here, in his homeland, Joe Bastianich (and fami- ly) has recently opened his first Italian restaurant.
After taking Friuli and Italy to the Big Apple, Hong Kong and Singapore, the MasterChef, renowned for his skills in
the kitchen and TV appearances, has now chosen Friuli to open a great new restaurant.
Locally sourced materials
A painstakingly renovated old farmstead in Friuli is now the Orsone restaurant and B&B (www.orsone.com). It takes its name from the mountain overlooking the property.
The renovation works were directly over- seen by Bastianich’s mother Lidia, who personally selected the materials. These were all locally sourced, from the wood
