Anyone can say that they put people at the center of thing: “People are im- portant for us!”, but in real life, just saying it isn’t enough. I’ve had enough ex- perience to understand just how important people are in the success of a project, but I’ve also seen how often this aspect can be ne- glected. The strategic ideas, the ideas that should set a company apart from its com- petitors, the new commercial projects that might be capable of generating better results
nearly always only stay inside the entre- preneur’s head, or in the heads of a few oth- er close associates, at best.
The communication, and above all, the shar- ing of the idea with the people who will be required to apply the “distinctive project”, is often ineffective because the entrepreneur thinks that it need be communicated only once, perhaps in a hurry, without even much emphasis, and then everyone in the com- pany will instantly understand the project in all its details, and from the very next day begin applying it coherently and achieve im-
mediate success.
A method like this obviously cannot
be very productive and many en- trepreneurs can only justify their failure by saying: “My ineffi- cient staff stops me from growing!”. The topic clear- ly requires further con-
sideration.
