Important investments for STILE PAVIMENTI LEGNO
- Written by Staff
More than forty years since it was first set up, Stile Pavimenti Legno (Città di Castello, Perugia - Italy) has achieved a major goal: huge investments in new technology and automation to give the company one of the most efficient and modern two-layer prefinished wooden flooring production plants possible. All told, the new production line is more than 200 metres long, offering initial output capacity of 2000 m2 of parquet a day.
However the real cause for pride is almost certainly the automatic warehouse (see photo of the exterior) that adds machines to the shelving: these move along special tracks to deposit or pick up the required materials. And all run by a dedicated software that co-ordinates all movement to optimise goods handling operations.
The advantage is that many storing and delivery operations are now greatly speeded up, plus it becomes much easier for warehouse staff to prepare shipments, since they receive materials in the picking bays rather than having to go on a fork-lift truck to pick them up from the shelves, as was the case in the past. Another important aspect of the new system is that stock management can now be kept under control at all times, meaning every square inch can be exploited.
