LORENZO ONOFRI heads THE WOODEN FLOORING GROUP

Lorenzo Onofri, Commercial Director of Stile Pavimenti Legno, is the new Managing Director of the Gruppo Pavimenti in Legno, a member of Edilegno - Federlegno/ Arredo (the Italian federation of timber, cork, furniture and furnishing firms).
Onofri, who replaces Carlo Comani of Cazzotti, will be backed up by a competent “tough” team: Andrea Signoretti is the Vice Managing Director, while the Technical Commission numbers Marco Bruno, Franco Capicchioni and Renato Del Bello.
Delegates on the Edilegno Board include Lorenzo Onofri and Carlo Comani.

UNIKO LEGNO: a new brand in the world of parquet

Unikolegno’s history is similar to that of many in Italy, responsible for creating the universally recognised “made in Italy” formula. A definition that can trace its roots back to the Renaissance when Italian art helped spread the perception that an object produced in Italy contained a certain added value in terms of aesthetics, making it stand out from the rest. The art of woodworking naturally falls within this context: if we go back four centuries, we find many artists from the alps and foothills in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions who created a “school” that has left its mark: the expression “made in Italy” used today.
The Unikolegno catalogue contains 10 collections: the product range numbers more than 600 items. A huge selection, many of the products being covered by patents, and all “built” entirely in-house.
The secret? Unikolegno floors incorporate the forty years’ experience of the company’s founder and current Managing Director. Marino Da Soller (see photo) started working when just 14 years old, producing wooden furniture in solid wood and building up some remarkable expertise. He knows all about the local timbers and exotic ones too: their good and bad points, their secrets, how they age and react to the weather and how they evolve during the production processes. Not to mention his great love for harmonious form.

GAZZOTTI distributes IDEE&PARQUET

Last September Gazzotti Spa presented the press and industry professionals with the Idee&Parquet brand that, as of 2008, is now distributed by this classic firm from Bologna. Set up in Arezzo in 1965, the Idee&Parquet workshop consists of a group of local skilled craftsmen who work with great passion and expertise to produce parquet that fully respects the old Tuscan woodworking traditions.
Idee&Parquet products are unique items, made to customer specifications and are chosen by an elite top-bracket market in Italy and abroad, mostly designers and private individuals looking for an exclusive prestigious product.
Without altering its status as an artisan workshop, Idee&Parquet can now rely on the importance of the Gazzotti brand, its good distribution network and economic strength. For its part, by distributing Idee&Parquet products, Gazzotti ensures exceptional versatility and enviable flexibility in production: things hard to achieve with industrial technology alone.
